History

Built in 1974, Forrest Lake (FL) Townhomes is a 243 individually owned townhome community situated on a 22-acre park like setting. Forrest Lake has always consisted of mostly homeowners with few renters and is currently 80+% owner occupied with many long term residents.

Forrest Lake (note the two rr's) was so named because it had previously been a small dairy farm owned or operated by a Mr. Forrest. Beautifully maintained grounds with picturesque walking paths winding the site. We have a large, 3/4 acre, lake where you can feed the turtles and listen to the many birds. Olympic sized pool, tennis courts and large clubhouse are all readily available to residents.

Forrest Lake has always been self-managed but property maintenance was a somewhat arbitrary operation in those early days and FL went through a procession firstly of single contract workers and then over the years gradually moved towards the employment of a professional maintenance manager and a dedicated team of experienced employees. Many of these are still with us today.

Study of old photographs show attractive development in our appearance. Our trees have grown enormously and the grounds have also matured in a very pleasant fashion. This is all a tribute to careful planning, the devoted work of employees, and a general desire among homeowners not to see their home and property deteriorate into just another worn out townhouse development headed for the rental market. Maintenance and security remain a priority today and residents continue to take great pride in their homes.

Location

Forrest Lake is nestled in the near northwest part of Houston. Within a stones throw of Hwy 290, we are located just east of Bingle Road on W Tidwell Road. Close by are many restaurants and shops that line the 290 corridor. There is also a Cinemark Tinseltown movie theater within 2 miles.
